Op 24 maart 1986 werden de Academy Awards (uitreiking van de Oscars) voor het jaar 1985 gehouden in het Dorothy Chandler Pavillion in Los Angeles. De gastheren/vrouw van de avond was de bekende acteurs/actrice Alda Alda (bekend van o.a. de tv serie M*A*S*H, waarin hij de rol vertolkte van Hawkeye Pierce en won meerdere emmy's en golden globes), Jane Fonda (bekend van o.a. de fitnessprogramma's en de film Agness of god) en Robin Williams (bekend van o.a. de tv serie Mork and Mindy en de vele films, zoals Good Will Hunting, Good Morning Vietnam en Awakeking).De grote winnaars
